Spyware Recap
In case you don’t know or have had it on the back burner for awhile, spyware is computer software that is generally viewed as malicious, as it is unknowingly downloaded onto one’s hard drive by various methods and likewise unknowingly (to the recipient) tracks his web browsing habits. I don’t know of anyone who wouldn’t want to remove spyware if he knew it was on his computer. Not only does this type of malware “spy” on people, as its name suggests, in the process it can also damage and even destroy your computer’s level of functionality. Nobody likes spyware except perhaps the seedy individuals who create it.
What is the difference between spyware and adware? Sometimes adware is lumped in with spyware, as both are unsolicited and both pertain to marketing and sales. Spyware, however, is more sophisticated than adware. An example of adware is a pop-up, which suddenly appears when you click elsewhere on the screen, forcing you to see its advertisement. You will definitely want to remove spyware, whose methods are the opposite of adware. Spyware watches you instead of vice versa, giving spyware a much more sinister connotation than adware. Though adware can also be debilitating and destructive, it is so obvious that it leans more towards annoying and obnoxious than sneaky and stalking.
