BE to Collaborate with Freerunner to Provide Free Broadband
Freerunner has a new companion in the form of internet service provider BE Broadband, that has agreed to supply local communities devoid of internet access with free broadband.
Freerunner is one of the services that works on the motto of ‘access to the Internet for all’ and are engaged in providing WiFi hotspots in certain places like community centres, local businesses, schools and outer city locations without charging anything for it.
The present scheme involves providing free WiFi to around 46 communities for a period of three years at the least, irrespective of the existing connectivity.
According to Tom Williams, head of operations at BE Broadband, the service provider is proud to be working with Freerunner and seconds the stance of Forerunner on WiFi for everyone. Williams added that the approach of Freerunner is like a recap of what BE had done for broadband when it introduced its UK ADSL 2+ network. The members of this service will most likely hang out in cafes and shops, which makes the association even more fulfilling for the service provider.
Speaking on the association with BE Broadband, the CEO of Freerunner, Owen Geddes, expressed his excitement over the venture as BE will be providing connection to people who do not have any access to the internet for no costs at all. Geddes also added that it is thrilling that such a venture with low costs and broad objectives can actually change the lives of thousands of people across the
